Walden est un miroir qui ouvre une perspective grâce à son propre reflet. Son image se développe en profondeur et entre dans les murs. Comme une envie d’extension de notre espace, Walden est une fenêtre vers un petit monde latent, pur produit de notre vision.
Cet objet est une des conclusions du projet Repères : recherche sur la perception de la profondeur, de l’horizontalité et de la verticalité dans les volumes.

Visual experimentation aimed at producing effects of depth as part of my project Repères (« Bearings », a study on the perception of horizontality, verticality and depth in volumes), which I began in 2012, has led me to design the Walden mirror and Aven column.
In both these objects, a pure white mirror conjures up the real – the material object – and the virtual – the object’s reflection – side by side, in a single continuous form. The perspective brought about by this reflection gives the illusive but very clear impression of depth. Akin to longings to extend the space around us, these objects are windows onto tiny latent worlds forged by our vision.
